McKesson recognized for its 'At Your Service' program

McKesson Corp. announced that week that McKesson Patient Relationship Solutions (MPRS) was a finalist in the Most Valuable Patient Service category in the eyeforpharma Philadelphia Awards 2016.

MPRS was recognized for its "At Your Service" Glaucoma Support Program that assists patients in adhering to their medication regimes.

The "At Your Service" support program was developed by McKesson for Allergan for glaucoma patients that have been prescribed one of its three brands. McKesson's behavioral coaching expertise was used in two channels. The Pharmacy Intervention Program promoted at-the-counter coaching at the first and second fills of the medication.

The second channel, the Behavioral Call Campaign, used McKesson's Patient Support representatives to support patients. The representatives called Allergan's glaucoma patients who had not used the co-pay savings program. During the call, the representative also discussed barriers that might be preventing the patient from taking the medications.

“We are very proud that we were able to work closely with Allergan to support glaucoma patients and have a significant impact on primary and secondary adherence,” McKesson's Director of Client Strategy and Solutions Amanda Rhodes said. “In addition, through the efforts of our contact center agents, we were able to uncover key challenges patients were facing, and strengthen our support materials to help to overcome them. These live conversations are invaluable for brands who want to learn more about their patient population and arm it with the support it needs, when it needs it. We can’t assume that we know what patients need, we need to uncover it, working collaboratively with our patient population.”
