CVS Health this week announced the opening of eight MinuteClinics in Maryland Target stores.
With the addition of the rebranded clinics in
Target, there are now 43 MinuteClinics in Maryland. Six of the new clinics are in the Baltimore metropolitan area while the other two are in Nottingham
and Silver Spring.
"The new MinuteClinic locations inside Target will offer the same scope of services available to patients at all our other clinics in Maryland and nationwide," MinuteClinic President and CVS Health EVP and Associate Chief Medical Officer Dr. Andrew Sussman said. "In addition, some services will be new to Target guests, including treatment for minor sprains and strains, contraceptive care and smoking cessation counseling."
MinuteClinics provide walk-in services for patients with and without insurance. Most major insurance plans are accepted. Nurse practitioners and physician assistants treat patients for illnesses such as colds, flu, strep throat, and vomiting. Other conditions, including acne, minor wounds and sprains, are treated at the clinic. Vaccinations, screening and other preventative services are also available.
Most Target-based MinuteClinic locations are open from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. The Annapolis and Baltimore clinics close at 7 p.m. on weekdays and open at 11 a.m. on weekends
