Bears running back joins fight against PF

Jordan Howard, the leading rusher for the Chicago Bears, attended the 2016 Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation’s (PFF) volunteer meeting where he dedicated himself to fighting pulmonary fibrosis.
Howard’s father, Dr. Reginald Howard, passed away from PF.
"My father was an active, athletic man in the prime of his life when he was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis," Howard said. "The diagnosis did not stop him from being a loving father and did not prevent him from hel­ping prepare me for life and the game of football. I believe his diagnosis inspired him to enjoy life and his family even more."
The PFF Volunteer Meeting was Nov. 9 at the Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile. The meeting takes place on an annual basis and is attended by advocates, patients, professionals from the health care field and more who are affected by PF.
"Jordan Howard offers new hope to the community of 200,000 people fighting pulmonary fibrosis," PFF President and Chief Executive Officer Patti Tuomey said. "We share with Jordan an unwavering commitment to find a cure for all who are affected by this disease."
