McKesson, the platinum sponsor of CBI’s Formulary, Co-Pay and Access Summit, is presenting a new approach to patient-centric behavioral coaching with the overall goal of improving adherence despite affordability and other barriers.

The conference, “Overcome Patient Affordability Barriers in an Evolving Managed Care Landscape,” will feature dozens of special sessions and roundtable discussions.

Reagan Tully, vice president of product strategy for McKesson Specialty Health, will present “Formulary Breakthroughs – Moving Beyond Co-Pay Programs to Encourage Collaboration and Improve Patient Outcomes.” Tully will address the major challenges and patient financial burdens while focusing on methods for manufacturers to collaborate with patients. The solutions include ways to ease cost burdens and ultimately help patients adhere to treatments and regimes recommended by their healthcare professionals.

Amanda Rhodes, director of client strategy and solutions for McKesson Specialty Health, will join Tully to talk about integrated solutions that leverage brand co-pay programs and various adherence barriers. The session is highly anticipated as it will review multiple case studies. The information provided to attendees will provide them with the information they need to understand patient adherence barriers.

McKesson has also published a new whitepaper discussing effective strategies of brands to combat non-adherence by implementing behavioral coaching into patient support programs. The whitepaper can be obtained by emailing Amanda.Rhodes@mckesson.com.

“It’s important to realize that most non-adherence is the result of behavioral barriers,” Tully said in a statement released by McKesson. “Leveraging behavioral coaching across communication channels, hub services and pharmacy channels allows brands to reach patients where they are within their treatment journey to build an integrated patient experience, drive positive health outcomes, and increase medication adherence.”
