Express Scripts integrates with myMatrixx to expand resources

Express Scripts has acquired myMatrixx to combine its integrated pharmacy benefit management (PBM) services with myMatrixx's workers' compensation pharmacy benefits experience.

"We are proud to create best-in-class pharmacy services for workers' compensation programs by combining our deep expertise with the market-leading myMatrixx customer experience and technology," Express Scripts President and CEO Tim Wentworth said. "We are well-equipped to address our clients' evolving needs. Our unique combination of scale, technology and a customized client experience sets the standard for workers' compensation programs."

The combined services of the two companies will improve the enhanced pharmacy services offerings for current and future workers' compensation clients. Express Scripts recently released data showing the firm had lowered workers' compensation prescription drug spending by 7.6 percent in 2016, while myMatrixx was known for its client services. 

The workers' compensation team will be led by current myMatrixx CEO Artemis Emslie.
