McKesson Pharmacy Systems (MPS) recently unveiled two new features — Medication Synchronization and Mobile Delivery — serving its pharmacy management suite, which comprises EnterpriseRx, PharmacyRx and Pharmaserv systems.

Medication Synchronization (also known as Med Sync) allows pharmacists to better track patient health profiles, particularly with coordinating multiple prescriptions, and even improve patient medication adherence. Mobile Delivery is designed to increase efficiency and hence profitability for pharmacies while ensuring home delivery to consumers.

“The Med Sync and Mobile Delivery enhancements underscore our commitment to act upon our customers’ feedback and prioritize product development requests,” Bernie Reese, senior vice president/general manager for McKesson Pharmacy Systems, said. “These updates also reflect our sharp focus on developing agile, cross-platform pharmacy technology that can benefit all MPS customers at the same time.”

MPS partnered with RxTrax to achieve the upgrade, integrating the three original platforms with enhanced interoperability.

“I am so impressed with the functionality of Med Sync in Pharmaserv,” Adrienne Cervone, owner of Beaver Health Mart Pharmacy in Beaver, Pennsylvania, said. “From the ease of enrolling a patient, to the alert letting us know that a patient is synced with the creation of a new Rx, this update is so crucial to where pharmacy is heading. Being integrated right into the pharmacy system makes Med Sync an all-around win.”

The Pennsylvania-based company will exhibit in the McKesson ideaShare 2017 convention this week in New Orleans.
