Prime Therapeutics, a Twin Cities-based pharmacy benefit manager, said on Monday that Ellyn Hosch has been promoted to senior vice president and chief information officer.

In Hosch’s new role, she will continue to supervise the complete planning, development and implementation of Prime’s information-technology strategy.

Hosch joined Prime in 2008, and in 2013, she was promoted to vice president of information technology and chief information officer. Before she was named chief information officer, Hosch was the vice president of application development and support at Prime, in which she headed the effective in-sourcing of Prime´s claims and processing system.

Hosch has been helpful in shaping and applying the strategy for refining internal IT development and support processes to guarantee application availability and stability, Prime said.

"In her seven years at Prime, Ellyn has demonstrated exceptional leadership for our IT teams,” Eric Elliott, president and chief executive officer of Prime, said. “Her promotion reflects the confidence our board of directors has in her abilities, as well as the importance Prime places on effective uses of technology.”

Prior to joining Prime, Hosch held leadership roles at Diversified Pharmaceutical Services, HealthPartners and UnitedHealth Group. She received a master's in business administration from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota.
