The Pharmacy and Medical Boards have approved modifications to the statewide protocol for pharmacist-initiated hormonal contraceptive therapy. These changes took effect on May 20, 2025. The updated protocol is available online.
The North Carolina Association of Pharmacists (NCAP) has revised its Hormonal Contraceptive Toolkit to incorporate these updates. Additionally, NCAP has created a video explaining the changes, which can be accessed on YouTube.
