APCI and PrescribeWellness expand partnership

American Pharmacy Cooperative, Inc. (AMCI) on Wednesday announced plans to expand its partnership with PrescribeWellness, a cloud-based services company.
“We are ready to take our relationship to the next level and offer our members more tools and additional programs to help them succeed as both health care providers and as business owners,” APCI Chief Operating Officer Susan Maze said.
APCI, one of the country’s biggest member-owned group purchasing organization, and PrescribeWellness entered into a strategic partnership last summer. PrecribeWellness’ mission is to empower pharmacists to provide preventive health care services in their communities.
“We are committed to the success of both APCI and their member pharmacies,” PrescribeWellness co-founder Tony Thuyen said. “Star Ratings and related measurements are increasingly becoming the determining factors for all health care providers, so it is critical for independent pharmacies to build patient relationships focused on medication adherence and chronic disease management. APCI and PrescribeWellness continue to develop new ways to support APCI members in their effort to do so.”
Significant performance rebates for pharmacies that receive an overall rating of 4.0 or higher in the five quality measures impacting the pharmacy are included in the expansion. These incentives will be announced to APCI members at the company’s annual trade show in Birmingham, Alabama, Saturday.
