NASP moves headquarters to D.C.

The National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP) said on Tuesday that it has moved its headquarters to the Washington, D.C., area.

The NASP headquarters are now located at 1765 Duke St, Alexandria Va. 22314, effective immediately.

"This move signals a strategic shift in NASP priorities," Mike Ellis, corporate vice president of specialty pharmacy and infusion for Walgreens and NASP's president, said. "The board of directors intends that NASP become the voice of specialty pharmacy in the United States and an effective representative of the entire industry and the patients we serve."

Burt Zweigenhaft, vice chairman of Onco360 and NASP's vice president, said NASP plans to add advocacy to its core mission, and that the association needs to be in the nation's capital to carry that out effectively.

"NASP will continue to focus on education and collaboration in specialty pharmacy,” Zweigenhaft said. “We will continue to represent all stakeholders, and we look forward to a successful annual meeting at the Gaylord National Harbor in 2015, just across the Potomac River from our new headquarters office."

The NASP staff already has completed the move to the new location. In addition to the relocation, the association is launching a new website at naspnet.org.
