Univita receives PCAB accreditation
The accreditation is the result of an independent audit of the organization’s commitment to delivering quality care and services in accordance with nationally recognized United States Pharmacopeia 797 standards.
"We are pleased to receive PCAB pharmacy compounding accreditation,” Michael Muchnicki , president and CEO of Univita Health, said. “This accreditation emphasizes our unwavering commitment to producing safe, high-quality prescriptions for our infusion patients. Compounding medications allows us to provide a wider array of life-sustaining medications to our patients in the comfort of their own home.”
PCAB accreditation evaluates the compounding process based on a detailed set of standards concentrated on the quality and consistency of medications produced. Sterile pharmacy compounding is the preparation of custom medications for patients in a sterile environment to prevent contamination and keep patients safe.
Univita’s compounding pharmacy in Miramar, Florida, utilizes a system of high-definition cameras to maintain quality and sterile cleanroom standards while at the same time helping to expedite service to their patients.
