Walmart pharmacies adopt SinfoniaRx medication-management system
“We are incredibly excited to launch this new program with Walmart,” Kevin Boesen, founder and CEO of SinfoníaRx, said. “Managing complex, chronic illnesses is a real challenge. We are honored to work with Walmart to help patients live better lives.”
The technology developed by SinfoníaRx is already in use at the University of Arizona, where it was originally created, and Ohio State University. Currently, the prescription activity of more than 6 million patients across the country is being monitored with it.
At Walmart, the SinfoníaRx software will be used to keep track of prescription medications and alert pharmacists to possible problems in patients' regimens. Pharmacists can share any concerns -- which could include non-adherence, gaps in care or poly-pharmacy concerns -- with patients and providers.
