Elsevier to publish American Pharmacists Associations journals

Elsevier will be the publisher of all American Pharmacists Association (APhA) publications starting Jan. 1.

"Our publishing relationship with Elsevier will take APhA's publications to the next level," APhA Chief Operating Officer Elizabeth Keyes said. "As a leading global publisher, Elsevier will ensure our journals remain leaders in the field, while keeping us up-to-date with the publishing trends and needs of our authors and readers."

The APhA publications that will published under Elsevier will be the Journal of the American Pharmacists, Pharmacy Today, and the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Though Elsevier will be publishing the journals, current editors of these publications will maintain oversight of the editorial selections and the responsibility of the publications. Elsevier will also be responsible for the distribution and promotion.

Elsevier will look to enhance some of the aspects of the publications, such as increasing its online presence, as well as increasing online content. They are also looking to develop a mobile app that will have interactive links for further explanation.

"We are very pleased to add APhA's highly regarded pharmacy and pharmaceutical science publications to our portfolio,” Elsevier  Executive Publisher Chris Baumle said. “We look forward to working with APhA's editorial team to further enhance the publications and their services for authors and readers."
