Publix to offer free 90-day supplies on certain medications

Publix's pharmacies began offering free medications Tuesday as part of its free medication program.

The pharmacies at Publix will provide 90-day supplies of Lisinopril, metformin and amlodipine. Recipients must have a prescription for the medications.

“The Publix Pharmacy continues to enhance our free medications programs to best serve the needs of our customers,” Media and Community Relations Director Maria Brous, said. “With health care and prescription costs continuing to rise, medication adherence may prove challenging. The enhancement to our free prescription programs and pharmacy services allows our customers to focus on staying healthy and achieving their overall wellness goals.”

Publix previously offered 30-day supplies of the medications but decided to enhance the program. They also offer free 15-day supplies on ampicillin, amoxicillin, ciprofloxacin, sulfamethoxazole and penicillin.
