Cigna-HealthSpring expands partnership with Jefferson Health
“Our expanded partnership reflects our shared commitment to our customers, and creates a greater opportunity to provide the services and care they need to achieve their personal health goals with high quality healthcare professionals and specialists they trust,” Laura Reich, Cigna-HealthSpring market manager for Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic region, said.
Individuals enrolled in Cigna-HealthSpring Medicare Advantage plans will now be covered by all five of Jefferson Health's hospitals effective Jan. 1.
As part of the expanded agreement, Jefferson Health will take part in Cigna-HealthSpring's Partnership for Quality program and Physician Organized Delivery System. While both offer customers greater coordination of care, the Partnership for Quality program also gives health care professionals access to much-needed resources, such as pharmacists to assist with medication management and extra nurses.
“By expanding our partnership, together we are able to increase healthcare access for residents in the tri-state area, close gaps in care and proactively address health issues before they become more serious and more costly,” Jefferson Executive VP and Chief Medical Officer Anne Docimo said. “Our shared goals put the patient at the center and empower our physicians to improve health outcomes and provide a personalized customer experience.”
