Sixteen technology vendors and health systems were recently honored with Surescripts 2015 White Coat of Quality Award.
The award is part of the information technology company's quality management program and recognizes organizations that comply with quality assurance standards related to e-prescribing.
In order to qualify for the White Coat award, organizations must measure and report on e-prescription content quality such as drug descriptions and prescriber notes, participate in continuous training focused on how to better use e-prescribing systems, and keep up-to-date with system software.
Recipients of the 2015 White Coat of Quality Award were: DAW Systems–ScriptSure, DrFirst, GeniusDoc, Indian Health Service, iPatientCare, Lee Memorial Health System, Meditab Software Inc., Medical Transcription Billing Corp., NextGen Healthcare and HealthFusion, OmniMD, Pulse Systems Inc., STI Computer Services, MDToolbox, Vanderbilt University Medical Center and WRS Health. While all recipients have previously been recognized with the award, this is the fifth consecutive year that the award has been given to DAW Systems, HealthFusion, Pulse Systems and WRS Health.
"Surescripts is thrilled to acknowledge the organizations who are striving daily to achieve the goal of zero content errors in e-prescribing," Ajit Dhavle, VP of clinical quality at Surescripts, said. "As new digital capabilities constantly emerge, all of us are responsible for improving e-prescribing quality to increase accuracy, reduce costs and save time for doctors, pharmacists and patients."
