Meijer to add in-store clinics in Wisconsin and Michigan

Meijer announced this week the upcoming addition of in-store clinics to its Waukesha and Sussex, Wisconsin, and Lansing, Michigan, stores.

The new relationships forged with Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin health network and Sparrow Health System will give Meijer's customers a convenient and affordable health care alternative.

The in-store clinics provide clinical and acute care for a variety of minor illnesses, such as colds, flu, sore throats and other infections. Customers can see a physician or physician's assistant, have prescriptions filled and do their shopping in one stop.

“Meijer is committed to expanding convenient access to health care providers,” Health and Wellness Director Jacquelyn DeBruler said. “These partnerships give us an opportunity to connect local providers and patients, ultimately meeting people where they are.”

Meijer has already incorporated four in-store clinics in its retail stores, including Bronson FastCare, Beaumont FastCare, Reid Health Ready Care and Family Quick Care clinics. It has also added seven hearing and 75 optical centers to its stores.

“We know that access to immediate medical care is very important to our community,” Bronson Healthcare Director of Business Development Florence Steinberg said. “That means making sure we are doing all we can to provide the right care, in the right place, at the right time. Having Bronson FastCare inside a Meijer store helps area families get expert medical attention quickly and without having to go out of their way.”
