CVS Health recently received two distinguished awards from CIO, a leading content and community resource for information technology executives and leaders.
The integrated digital pharmacy application implemented by CVS
Health led to the CIO 100 Award. The second award went to EVP and Chief Information Officer (CIO) Stephen Gold, who was named as a 2016
inductee into the CIO Hall of Fame.
“The combination of these prestigious honors further validates how Steve and his team have strategically leveraged technology to help CVS Health push the boundaries of innovation, digital leadership, and business value creation,” CVS Health President and CEO Larry Merlo said. “Equally impressive is Steve’s entrance into the CIO Hall of Fame which marks a distinguished career in IT and demonstrated excellence in technology leadership.”
The awards ceremony for the CIO 100 and CIO Hall of Fame will be held during the CIO 100 Symposium on Aug. 16 in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Created in 1997, the CIO Hall of Fame honors outstanding IT leaders. There are now 85 CIOs inducted into the Hall of Fame.
“The CIOs who are invited to join our CIO Hall of Fame are always an inspiring, accomplished group of technology leaders,” Editor in Chief of CIO Events Maryfran Johnson said. “The evaluation of each candidate by our alumni judges makes this peer-to-peer award deeply meaningful to CIOs, as it recognizes the business leadership they’ve shown throughout their careers. We are delighted to welcome these seven new members, and look forward to hearing directly from them at our CIO 100 Symposium this summer.”
