Nominations now being accepted for American Pharmacists Association's annual awards

The American Pharmacists Association's (APhA) annual awards and honors program is set for March 24-27, 2017, and award nominations are being accepted now.

The awards ceremony will take place in San Francisco, California. Awards to be presented include the Remington Honor Medal, the pharmacy profession’s highest honor; the Hugo H. Schaefer Award, given to an APhA members who has made exemplary volunteer contributions; the Hubert H. Humphrey Award, for an APhA member who has made major contributions in government or legislative service; the Good Government Pharmacist-of-the-Year Award; Honorary Membership; Honorary President; Gloria Niemeyer Francke Leadership Mentor Award; H.A.B. Dunning Award for exemplary contribution to APhA and the practice of pharmacy; Distinguished Federal Pharmacist Award; Distinguished New Practitioner Award; Community Pharmacy Residency Excellence in Precepting Award; and the Generation Rx Award of Excellence.

In the American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management (APhA-APPM), category, the Daniel B. Smith Practice Excellence Award, and APhA-APPM Pharmacy Management Excellence Award will be presented.

Also awarded will be the APhA-APPM Distinguished Achievement Awards — Distinguished Achievement in Pharmacy Practice, Distinguished Achievement in Pharmacy Management and Distinguished Achievement in Service; and the APhA-APPM William H. Briner Distinguished Achievement Award in Nuclear Pharmacy Practice.

In the American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science (APhA-APRS) category, the Tyler Prize for Stimulation of Research, and the Research Achievement Award in the Pharmaceutical Sciences will be awarded.

Fellows of the American Pharmacists Association will also be announced. These are members of the APhA Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management (APhA-APPM) or the APhA Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science (APhA-APRS) with at least 10 years professional experience who have demonstrated exceptional professional achievements.
