Sysmex adds new single-color, monoclonal antibodies to CyFlow line
Monoclonal antibodies target a specific antigen, such as one on a cancer cell. Once the antibody attaches to that antigen, it attracts immune cells, which attack and destroy the cancer cell. In some cases, the mAbs are attached to a chemotherapy drug or radioactive particle. The antibody attaches itself to the targeted cancer cell, where the drug or particle can kill it. This reduces the damage that a strong drug or radiation may cause to normal cells in the body.
The single-color mAbs allow researchers to design the mAbs and the effect they have on a specific type of antigen and cell. Sysmex has a wide range of colors and aAbs available for research use only.
"Our expanded product portfolio, especially the CyFlow single-color monoclonal antibodies, represents our global commitment to academic, pharmaceutical, industrial and clinical researchers," Ralph Taylor, EVP, Sysmex America, said. "We look forward to offering this expanded product portfolio to the flow cytometry research community across the Americas for many years to come."
