Baxter International Inc. has once again earned the highest possible score of 100 percent on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), which is produced by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
“We are honored to be recognized for our practices, policies and culture that support LGBT equality in the workplace,” Baxter CEO and Chairman José (Joe) Almeida said. “We pride ourselves on maintaining a culture that recognizes every individual’s unique background and experiences that contribute to a successful organization.”
The CEI is a national benchmarking survey and report on the practices and policies of corporations regarding the equality of LGBT employees in the workplace. The policies and practices related to LGBT are evaluated by the CEI. These include workplace non-discrimination, benefits for domestic partners, health care benefits that include transgender employees, programs for diversity and public engagement with the LGBT community.
