Florida Hospital and Walgreens have initiated a retail health clinic and pharmacy collaboration to focus on delivering coordinated care and providing greater access to patients across the Tampa region.
“This collaboration will allow Florida Hospital to expand our footprint in the Tampa Bay area,” Mike Schultz, president and CEO of Florida Hospital West Florida Division, said. “We are proud to collaborate with Walgreens to help provide improved access and convenient health care in our community.”
Clinics will begin to transition to Florida Hospital this summer, becoming extensions of the Florida Hospital Physician Group. Walgreens will manage existing health care clinic locations until then.
“(This) announcement is another example of how we’re developing new and innovative relationships with community health systems,” Pat Carroll, chief medical officer for Walgreens Healthcare Clinics, said. “Collaborations that offer our patients a true continuum of care and provide more convenient access to trusted health care provider in the community.”
