Leaders from the health care continuum met last month in Washington, D.C. to explore methods to enhance payment and delivery methods for the private market to create better value for patients.
Convened by The Value Collaborative, the event featured a number of opinions on how to innovate and develop the health care system to create more patient-focused operations.
"Our members are actively collaborating on new approaches to assess and reward value and, as an industry, we are going to support policies and tools that help facilitate private-sector leadership in creating value-driven health care," Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America  President and CEO Stephen Ubl said.
The panelists spent time examining value-based contracting as value-driven health care continues to develop. It was agreed that a number of laws and regulations would need to be updated to make value-based contracts possible.
