Health care investment firm Ampersand Capital Partners recently divested its former portfolio firm Roadrunner Pharmacy in a deal transferring Roadrunner to Vets First Choice after five years of supported growth in revenue and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization.
Roadrunner is headquartered in Phoenix and provides individualized prescription products to veterinary clinics and pet owners nationwide. With over 250 of its own pharmacists, technicians, sales personnel and service professionals, Roadrunner has achieved status as a trusted provider of compounded medications; meticulous formulation management; and free one-day shipping.
Vets First Choice provides technology-supported health care for veterinarians tending to companion animals and horses. It collaborates with practitioners to examine unmet needs, bridge treatment gaps and offer practical prescription management in order to increase customer engagement and client compliance.
"We're enthusiastic to enable access to specialty pharmacy services via our prescription management platform for veterinarians and patients," Vets First Choice founder and CEO Benjamin Shaw said. "The combination of these capabilities helps practices streamline workflow, improve service, and enhance client communication."
Based in Wellesley, Massachusetts, Ampersand is a middle market private equity firm and has managed over $1 billion in the last 20 years with a focus on private equity partnerships.
