OnePoint Patient Care issued the following announcement on April 11.
OnePoint Patient Care, an industry leader in local hospice pharmacy, e-prescribing technologies and Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) solutions, is thrilled to announce plans to open five new hospice-dedicated pharmacies over the next two years, continuing the unparalleled national expansion of its local pharmacy model. OnePoint's unmatched local presence and local service capabilities uniquely position it to serve discerning, innovative hospices throughout the country more effectively than any other national hospice dispensing pharmacy or PBM.
In 2019, OnePoint will open locations in Southern California, Houston and the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Two additional pharmacies will open in Kansas City and the Washington D.C. metropolitan area in 2020. These pharmacies, together with OnePoint's national network of more than 65,000 locally contracted pharmacies and its industry standard medication management application OneConnectPoint™, ensure patients timely access to medication whenever and wherever they need it.
"Hospices are seeking a reliable supply of medications, which isn't available in every market," said Jeffrey Hohl, OnePoint Patient Care CEO. "We've been providing round-the-clock service and clinically knowledgeable pharmacists in markets with these needs for over three decades, so we understand that providing world-class end-of-life care is a demanding responsibility. Every day, we're asked by the industry's most innovative and service-centric hospices when we plan to open a local dispensing pharmacy in their neighborhood to serve their community."
These five openings reflect a direct response to the growing demand by hospices nationwide for OnePoint's local dedicated hospice pharmacy model. With OnePoint's entry into these new markets, hospices will have the option of a true local hospice pharmacy to fill all their pharmacy needs, including same-day and STAT delivery.
OnePoint's experienced pharmacists specialize in hospice care, providing 24-hour clinical advice, custom medication infusions and therapeutic recommendations. All staff members have electronic access to full patient profiles and drug history for fast, seamless service, and OnePoint's extensive inventory of hospice medications ensures that whatever patients need is always in stock. In addition, the OneConnectPoint mobile app makes e-prescribing easier than ever for busy hospice clinicians on the go.
"We're excited to expand our services to new markets and continue helping our hospice partners deliver the highest quality of care for the patients and families they serve," Hohl said.
