Pharmacy Times Continuing Education issued the following announcement on Feb. 12.
Pharmacy Times Continuing Education™ (PTCE), a leader in continuing education for retail, health-system, managed care, oncology and specialty pharmacists, will conduct three continuing education symposia at the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association’s 16th Annual Conference at the Tampa Convention Center.
“We are pleased to once again contribute to the overarching goal of optimizing oncology care delivery through our three educational symposia at HOPA’s 16th annual conference,” said Jim Palatine, R.Ph., M.B.A., president of PTCE. “Each of our sessions will focus on therapeutic breakthroughs that are changing the treatment landscape for patients and highlight the critical roles oncology pharmacists have within the health care team to improve outcomes for patients with cancer.”
The PTCE satellite symposia are as follows:
- The Evolving Treatment Landscape of CLL and the Impact of the Pharmacist in Optimizing Patient Outcomes, which will be held Friday, March 13, from 7 to 8 a.m. The faculty presenter for this session is Jolynn K. Sessions, Pharm.D., BCOP, associate professor of clinical education, UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in Asheville, North Carolina. This activity is supported by an educational grant from Pharmacyclics LLC., an AbbVie Company and Janssen Biotech, Inc. and is jointly sponsored by Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy. - Oncology Pharmacy Perspectives: Evolving Strategies for BTK Inhibitors in B-Cell Malignancies, a luncheon symposium to be held on Friday, March 13, from 12 to 1 p.m. The faculty presenter for this session is Kirollos S. Hanna, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCOP, oncology pharmacy manager, M Health Fairview, and assistant professor of pharmacy, Mayo Clinic School of Medicine in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
