The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) has announced several upcoming events aimed at pharmacy professionals. These events provide opportunities for education, networking, and advocacy within the pharmacy community.
The NCPA 2025 Congressional Pharmacy Fly-In is scheduled for April 30 to May 1 in Alexandria, Virginia, and Washington D.C. The association describes it as an essential advocacy event where participants can engage with decision-makers crucial to the pharmacy sector's future. Although registration for this event has closed, details for next year's fly-in are available online.
From May 2 to 3, the Business of Long-Term Care Workshop will take place in Alexandria, Virginia. Presented by the NCPA Long-Term Care Division, the workshop will cover essential aspects of owning and operating a long-term care pharmacy, aiming to expand participants' facilities. As of now, online registration for this workshop is closed.
Concurrent with the long-term care event, the Pharmacy Ownership Workshop will be held on May 2 to 3. Sponsored by McKesson, as well as First Financial Bank and Pharmacists Mutual Companies, this program is tailored for those considering pharmacy ownership or wishing to enhance their existing management skills. Registration has also closed for this event.
Another event, titled "Measles on the Rise: The Role of the Pharmacy Team," is part of the NCPA Learning Hour series and will occur on May 8. This session focuses on the measles resurgence and how pharmacists can contribute through vaccination strategies, patient communication, and public health collaborations. Interested individuals can register to participate.
The Mental Health First Aid Training is set for June 11 and will be conducted online. Designed to teach pharmacy team members to recognize and respond to mental health episodes, this course promises to provide valuable insights. Registration for this training is open until June 4.
The NCPA states that events are subject to change and advises checking their website for the latest updates.
