PCCA held its 2025 Awards Ceremony at the CONNEXT: Canadian Compounding Conference, recognizing outstanding achievements in pharmacy compounding. The event took place on May 2-3 at the Pinnacle Harbourfront Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia. It honored individuals for their contributions to advancing pharmacy compounding through innovation, quality commitment, patient care dedication, and leadership.
Chris Cameron from Pratt’s Compounding Pharmacy in Kamloops, British Columbia was awarded PCCA’s 2025 Canadian Compounding Pharmacist of the Year. Amanda Cassel and Dianna Fenerty presented this award on May 2. Cameron has been a part of the Kamloops community for over 15 years and is noted for his professional work and volunteer efforts. He also serves as a Pediatric Consultant Pharmacist with the Interior Health Authority.
Fenerty praised Cameron's impact on the compounding pharmacy community, stating, “Kamloops has certainly got one of the best... His persistent commitment to the profession has a profound impact on the compounding pharmacy community.”
Heather Snook from Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in Spruce Grove, Alberta received PCCA’s 2025 Canadian Compounding Technician of the Year award. This recognition was given by Cassel and Cheryl Spicer. Snook is known for her focus on patient care and leadership within her field.
Cassel remarked about Snook's contributions: “Heather is an outstanding compounding technician focused on patient care and has become an inspirational leader.”
The conference aims to unite pharmacy professionals across Canada to share knowledge and celebrate industry milestones. PCCA continues to support personalized medicine development by providing resources to over 3,000 member pharmacies worldwide.
