Several departments from the State of Michigan, in collaboration with the MI Trades Partnership, are set to host a Skilled Trades Career Fair on May 8, 2025. The event will be available both in-person and virtually, offering attendees various opportunities to explore career paths in skilled trades. Representatives from the Michigan Department of Civil Services and recruiters from various skilled trades professions across the state will be present to engage with participants.

“This is a great opportunity for individuals looking for a rewarding career in a high-demand industry,” stated Marlon I. Brown, Director of the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). “These events not only connect job seekers with employers but also highlight the critical role that skilled trades play in strengthening our state and improving the quality of life for all Michiganders.”

Trades businesses are invited to attend and recruit for any open positions. Additionally, the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) will provide services in person, including printing DD 214 forms for those applying with veterans' preference.

The in-person session is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 2407 N. Grand River Avenue, Lansing, MI 48906. The virtual session will occur from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., accessible online via MI Trades Career Event (virtual).

Registration for both sessions is available online through their respective links: MI Trades Career Event (In-person) and MI Trades Career Event (virtual).
