The Partnership for Safe Medicines (PSM) has issued a call to health care providers to verify the lot and serial numbers on Ozempic (semaglutide) 1 mg injection products. This alert comes after counterfeit versions of the product were discovered in the supply chain.

According to PSM, both counterfeit and authentic Novo Nordisk products share the lot number PAR0362. However, the counterfeit Ozempic products can be identified by their serial number, which is 51746517. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is currently investigating the potential risks associated with these counterfeit products.

Health care providers are encouraged to report any adverse events or side effects from using these products to FDA’s MedWatch Safety Information and Adverse Event Reporting Program.
