The South Dakota Health Link will hold its 2025 Fall Forum through a series of three virtual sessions. These sessions are aimed at updating healthcare providers and stakeholders on the latest enhancements to the Health Insights analytic tools.

“This year, our Health Link team is offering a series of three virtual sessions designed to provide focused updates and demonstrations of our Health Insights analytic tools. These virtual sessions give us the opportunity to share important Health Link updates while showcasing the analytic tools that support healthcare providers and improve outcomes for South Dakotans,” said South Dakota Department of Health Secretary Melissa Magstadt.

Each session will include updates from the South Dakota Health Link team regarding technology improvements, new member highlights, and demonstrations of analytics features such as cross-hospital patient movement tracking, predictive analytics for readmission risk, and analysis of maternal health access in hospital desert areas.

The virtual forums are scheduled for October 23, October 30, and November 6, with each session offering different times to accommodate participants' schedules. Registration is now open for those interested in attending.

South Dakota Health Link serves as the state's Health Information Exchange (HIE), allowing secure sharing of patient information among healthcare providers. This system aims to enhance care coordination and reduce medical errors by ensuring vital health data is available when needed across different care settings. The initiative supports broader public health efforts by providing comprehensive patient records.

The Department of Health’s mission focuses on protecting and improving the health of all residents in South Dakota by promoting wellness, preventing disease, and ensuring access to quality healthcare.
