United States Pharmacopeia (USP) has released new resources aimed at helping pharmaceutical manufacturers ensure the quality of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonists. The materials include reference standards and analytical reference materials for three drugs: exenatide, liraglutide, and semaglutide.
USP's new offerings also feature information sheets that guide companies in testing the purity of these products. An infographic has been developed to illustrate the workflow involved in producing synthetic peptide drug substances and drug products.
These efforts are intended to aid manufacturers in impurity profiling, which is a key step in maintaining product quality and safety.
