State officials in New Mexico have issued a mandatory recall of a medical cannabis edible after finding it exceeded the legal limit for THC content. The Cannabis Control Division announced that “GH Kush Pops,” manufactured by GH LLC, contained 200 mg of total THC per package, with each lollipop holding 100 mg. This surpasses the state’s legal threshold, which allows no more than 50 mg of THC per serving in medical cannabis products.

No health-related complaints linked to this product have been reported so far. Licensed retailers are required to remove the product from their shelves immediately. Additional information about the recalled item, including images and a list of retail locations that received it, is available on the division’s website at https://www.rld.nm.gov/cannabis/data-news/cannabis-recalls/.

Medical cannabis in New Mexico is only available to patients with an ID card issued by the Department of Health. Patients who bought “GH Kush Pops” are advised to check product details and contact retailers regarding return or disposal options.

Officials warn that consuming products with higher-than-allowed THC levels can lead to increased risks such as impairment, anxiety, dizziness, rapid heart rate, or other unintended reactions.

The Cannabis Control Division stated: “The Cannabis Control Division is committed to protecting public health and safety by ensuring that all cannabis products comply with state regulations.”

Consumers experiencing health concerns are encouraged to contact the New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center at 1-800-222-1222 or consult their healthcare provider. Non-health-related complaints can be directed to the Cannabis Control Division.
