The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) has announced a series of upcoming online and in-person events aimed at pharmacists and pharmacy team members.

On March 12, the NCPA Learning Hour webinar titled "Building a Sustainable Clinical Services Model in an Independent Community Pharmacy" will focus on expanding pharmacist-led clinical services to support sustainable practice.

A Mental Health First Aid training session is scheduled for March 15. This live online course aims to help pharmacy staff identify, understand, and respond to mental health episodes. According to the NCPA, "Pharmacy team members are more likely to encounter a mental health episode than a situation requiring basic life support or CPR. This live online training course will help attendees identify, understand, and respond to people in need of this assistance." The Cardinal Health Foundation is providing support so that registration is available at a reduced rate. Registration for this event closes on March 11.

On March 19, another NCPA Learning Hour webinar called "Pharmacy Readiness Playbook for Global Soccer Championship" will offer strategies for independent community pharmacies as the United States prepares to host a major global soccer tournament.

The final webinar in March, "Nutrition Literacy in the Aisles: Empowering Pharmacy Teams to Deliver Practical, Culturally Responsive Food Guidance for Patients with Diabetes," takes place on March 26. The session will examine how pharmacy teams can use food products available on their shelves to guide healthier choices and tailor nutrition advice for diverse patient populations. It also covers how food-based education can support referrals to Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support services.

In addition to these virtual offerings, several in-person events are planned:

- The Pharmacy Ownership Workshop will be held from March 21-22 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Sponsored by McKesson with additional support from First Financial Bank and Pharmacists Mutual Companies, this two-day event targets pharmacists considering ownership or current owners seeking management skills.
- The Congressional Pharmacy Fly-In is set for April 15-16 in Alexandria, Virginia and Washington, D.C., providing an opportunity for participants to engage with policymakers.
- On April 18-19 in Alexandria, Virginia, the Business of Long-Term Care Workshop offers guidance on owning and operating long-term care pharmacies.

NCPA notes that all events are subject to change and encourages interested parties to visit their website for updates.

Founded in 1898, the NCPA represents over 18,900 pharmacies employing more than 235,000 individuals across the United States. Community pharmacies play an important role as accessible healthcare providers throughout the country.
