The National Community Pharmacists Association announced on March 31 a series of upcoming online and in-person events for pharmacists and pharmacy team members throughout April.
These events are designed to address a range of topics relevant to the pharmacy profession, including updates on Medicare policies, men’s health trends, Medicaid cost surveys, diabetes education accreditation, mental health first aid training, disaster response strategies, advocacy opportunities, and long-term care business development.
Online offerings begin with NCPA’s Maximum Fair Price Town Hall on April 7. This session will feature experts from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and Beacon MFP discussing the Medicare Prescription Drug Price Negotiation Program and related topics. On April 9, there will be a webinar focusing on men’s health in America. Additional virtual sessions include discussions about Medicaid cost of dispensing surveys (April 10), a Diabetes Accreditation Boot Camp launching April 15 (with registration by April 13), Mental Health First Aid training over two days (April 21 and April 23; register by April 17), and an event about supporting pharmacy teams during disasters scheduled for April 23.
In-person opportunities include the Congressional Pharmacy Fly-In on April 15-16 in Alexandria, Virginia and Washington D.C., which is described as an important advocacy event. The Business of Long-Term Care Workshop will take place in Alexandria from April 18-19 as an intensive course for those interested in owning or expanding long-term care pharmacies; registration closes March 31.
Founded in 1898, the National Community Pharmacists Association represents more than 18,900 pharmacies employing over 235,000 individuals nationwide. The organization highlights that community pharmacies play a vital role as accessible healthcare providers across the country. More information about these events can be found at www.ncpa.org.
