The MI Trades Partnership will hold its fifth annual Career Fair on May 13, connecting job seekers across Michigan with employers offering positions in high-demand fields. The event will take place both in person at the Durfee Innovation Society in Detroit and virtually to increase accessibility.

Marlon I. Brown, Director of the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, said, “Michigan’s future depends on a strong, skilled workforce, and that starts with connecting people to real opportunities. The MI Trades Partnership Career Fair brings employers and job seekers together in a way that opens doors and strengthens the skilled and professional trades community across our state.”

The career fair aims to help individuals pursue careers in construction, information technology, healthcare, manufacturing, and other sectors. Attendees can meet with employers who are actively hiring across multiple industries, learn about various career pathways and training options, and explore jobs that support Michigan’s workforce needs.

State departments participating include the Michigan Department of Civil Service Commission; Department of Corrections; Licensing and Regulatory Affairs; Technology, Management, and Budget; Transportation; as well as the State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division. Workforce partners such as ArtiFlex Manufacturing, Cintas Fire Protection, City of Detroit Buildings Safety Engineering & Environmental Department, Detroit at Work, DTE Energy among others will also be present.

Registration is available for both formats: an in-person session from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., or a virtual session from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., allowing participants flexibility based on their preferences or needs.

The MI Trades Partnership seeks to expand awareness about skilled trades careers by connecting individuals directly with employment opportunities throughout Michigan. More information is available at https://www.michigan.gov/mitrades.
