The Cannabis Regulatory Agency announced on May 21 that it is seeking new members to join its standing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Workgroup. The group aims to empower stakeholders to participate in programs affecting their communities and guide the agency on issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The workgroup meets monthly and has an 18-month term length for its members. Terms are staggered among participants. According to the agency, this structure allows for ongoing input from a variety of perspectives.
Individuals interested in joining must email [email protected] with 'WORKGROUP' in the subject line. The body of the email should include their name, mailing address, email address, phone number, occupation, job title, employer or affiliated organization name, and a brief explanation—no more than 250 words—of what diversity, equity, and inclusion means to them as well as the perspective they can bring. Attachments should not be included with submissions.
The agency said it will consider all requests that meet these requirements when establishing the workgroup. Requests made by telephone or sent to other contacts at the Cannabis Regulatory Agency may not be accepted.
The deadline for submitting an application is June 4 at 5:00 PM. Selections will be announced by June 18. Chosen applicants will be notified directly by the agency.
