The National Community Pharmacists Association announced on June 2 a series of upcoming online and in-person events designed for pharmacists and pharmacy team members.

The first event, "Opportunities for Growth: Cultivating Long-Term Care Continuum Services," will take place online on June 4 as part of the NCPA Learning Hour series. This session will explore emerging opportunities in long-term care pharmacy services, operational and compliance considerations, and strategies to support growth beyond traditional dispensing.

On June 25, the NASPA Pharmacy-Based Point-of-Care Test and Treat National Certificate Program will be held. This training aims to provide participants with skills necessary to develop testing programs for diseases such as influenza, Group A Streptococcus, HIV, hepatitis C, coronaviruses, and chronic diseases. Registration is open until June 18.

For those interested in in-person learning opportunities, NCPA is offering the Business of Long-Term Care Workshop from June 12-13 in Alexandria, Virginia. The workshop provides comprehensive training for individuals starting or expanding long-term care (LTC) pharmacy services. Registration closes on June 8. Additionally, the Pharmacy Ownership Workshop will be held July 11-12 in Chicago, Illinois. Sponsored by McKesson with support from First Financial Bank and Pharmacists Mutual Companies, this two-day event targets pharmacists considering ownership or current owners seeking management skill development; registration is open through June 30.

Registration opens on June 15 for the NCPA 2026 Annual Convention and Expo scheduled for October 3-6 in Kansas City, Missouri. The convention features business education sessions led by peers, networking opportunities with industry professionals, and an expo hall showcasing products and services aimed at strengthening independent pharmacies.

According to the association's announcement, "Events are subject to change. Visit our website for the latest information on NCPA events." Founded in 1898, the National Community Pharmacists Association represents over 18,900 pharmacies employing more than 235,000 individuals nationwide.
