The National Community Pharmacists Association announced on July 7 a series of upcoming online events and initiatives designed for pharmacists and pharmacy team members.
On July 7, the association will host a webinar focused on preparing for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services ACCESS model. This session aims to help pharmacies understand how to translate care into measurable outcomes and align payment with the value they deliver.
A second webinar, titled 'The Scripts You're Losing: How AI Prior Auth Is Closing Retail Pharmacy's Fill Rate Gap,' is scheduled for July 14 as part of NCPA's Business Booster Series. Develop Health will present on how artificial intelligence can manage prior authorization workloads, its impact on fill rates and patient retention, and the growing importance of resolution speed in prior authorizations.
Pharmacy professionals interested in diabetes education accreditation can register by August 24 for the Diabetes Accreditation Boot Camp. Offered by the NCPA Innovation Center and PharmFurther, this online course is designed to prepare participants for diabetes self-management education accreditation within six weeks or less so they can bill Medicare and other payers.
Ongoing initiatives include encouraging community pharmacy teams to invite their federal representatives for visits during August and October in-district work periods. The association said this effort follows a significant win achieved by community pharmacies earlier in the year, but noted there is more progress needed.
Registration remains open for both Pre-Convention Growth and Profitability Programs as well as the NCPA 2026 Annual Convention and Expo, which will take place October 3-6 in Kansas City, Missouri. The early bird registration rate ends July 12. According to NCPA, these programs cover topics such as pharmacy ownership fundamentals, artificial intelligence applications, long-term care pharmacy at home, and ways to advance existing services. Events are subject to change; attendees are encouraged to visit the organization's website for updates.
